James M. Clark
President and CEO, Interim CIOs
Jim Clark is the founder of Interim CIOs, offering interim IT leadership and Strategic Planning services to clients focused on aligning IT activities with business objectives. Mr. Clark was one of the founders of cranespharmacy.com, a dot.com with the bold objective of bringing back the neighborhood drugstore by designing, building and hosting private label e-pharmacy websites.
Jim held a number of senior management positions with United HealthCare, including VP Business Information Systems, Regional CIO for Managed Plans, and COO of the Allina/Medica Services Contract. Prior to United HealthCare, Jim worked for Technalysis Corporation, successfully competing in the Professional Services marketplace. Mr. Clark held a number of positions with Technalysis, including Project Manager, Account Manager, Branch Manager and Vice President, Professional Services.
Recent projects completed with the Gorman Health Group include designing a virtual office environment and technical infrastructure for a Special Needs Plan (SNP) in Chicago; providing systems integration services (establishing business partner interfaces with CMS, TMG and Caremark SilverScript) for a new SNP in MD; completing a Medicare enrollment reconciliation project with a health plan in RI; leading a Business Process Reengineering (BPR) effort for a Medicare Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in NC; and completing a membership discrepancy reconciliation project and rejected PDE analysis for a health plan in CO.
Jim Clark is past President, Northwest Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP); on the Board of Advisors for Benchmark QA, Advanced Prevention Technologies and PRC Consulting; and a member of the Technology Advisory Committees for the Dunwoody College of Technology, and Capella University. Mr. Clark is also a member of the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) and the Health Information and Management System Society (HIMSS).
Jim's experience in management consulting, professional services, information technology, and shared service environments represents a great background for interim CIO services.
